Theme
The digital economy increasingly attracts considerable attention from researchers and practitioners because it becomes a major force driving economic activity. The new economy paradigm transforms the traditional commerce by providing and sharing information and resources through digitalized technology and new business models. Emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, 4D printing, mobile Internet, virtual & augmented reality, block chain technology and robotics promote such transformations. Emerging business, such as, new retailing, intelligent supply chain, bike-sharing systems, Airbnb, service-oriented manufacturing, significantly alters the demand and supply sides of the economy by reshaping information and value chains. The interplay of emerging technology and business not only changes the individual behaviors and society, but also create opportunities for firms to build their competitive advantage. However, emerging technology and business also bring many challenges in the digital economy. Social relationships should be rebuilt with the digitalization of society.
